AAR members,

It is with significant regret that I must inform you that our Spring Meeting to be held at the Grand Hotel in Pointe Clear April 4-5th has been cancelled.  As you have probably heard, many radiology meetings and public events have been cancelled due to concerns of COVID-19.  This is, in part, related to travel restrictions imposed on our speakers as well as geographic concerns of potential and confirmed viral spread.

I am very grateful for all the hard work put in by our members to organize the meeting.  Our lineup included two ACR guest speakers, UAB faculty presentations, ProAssurance and a section on Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.  I am hopeful we can reproduce a similar agenda at a future meeting.

In the meeting’s absence, I will be scheduling a conference call of the Executive Committee to review the business related affairs of the organization, including a Legislative update.  We will also prepare for the upcoming ACR meeting in Washington DC, May 16-20, which as of today, remains as scheduled.

I am thankful for your membership and service to the AAR and will miss the collegiality that continually inspires me to do more for radiology in the State.  Please keep yourself, your families and your patients safe during this difficult time.
