What is the AAR?

The AAR is an organization composed of Diagnostic Radiologists, Radiation Oncologists, Nuclear Radiologists, Medical Physicists and Members in Training committed to representing the needs of our membership and profession.

The AAR provides the opportunity to work together for the advancement of the profession and to promote the best possible care for the citizens of Alabama. We are committed to promoting quality patient care and safety in imaging and image guided therapy.

The AAR is an organization with the talent and focus to provide strong local and national representation of radiology issues to Congress, CMS, ACR, AMA, MASA, Insurance Carriers, AQAF and others. Local education and CME opportunities to help you maintain professional competence needed in our rapidly advancing profession.

We are challenged to lead our vision of the future of radiology and a commit to resident and fellow education, research and participation in organized radiology in the state of Alabama.

Our Mission

Advancement of the science of radiology, improving radiological service to patients and the medical community, commitment to continuing education for radiologists, understanding the socioeconomic issues of radiology practice, and the establishment and maintenance of high medical and ethical standards.

AAR Code of Ethics

The members of the Alabama Academy of Radiology are committed to outstanding service to patients, professionalism and excellence of practice. Membership in the Alabama Academy of Radiology includes an agreement to abide by the AAR bylaws, the Code of Ethics of the American College of Radiology and the Principles of Ethics of the American Medical Association.
